Garage Sale Fundraiser

Today was probably the last fundraising event for the Scotland Scouts. The weather cooperated nicely and there was a decent number of people who came through. Quite a few of them before we were even set up. The gate opened up at about 7:30 am and setup was well under way by 8. The number of people really started to taper off before lunch and by 12:30 a few were packing up early.

We had about a dozen sellers in total, with 6 of them being Scotland Scouts. Hopefully they all made enough money for it to be worthwhile. We learned a few things, but we'll stick with this format if we do another garage sale.

Thankfully there was a hot dog stand as well to nourish the hungry garage sailers and sellers. By early afternoon there was nothing more refreshing than an ice cold pop.

There was a lot of items at the sale, and I'm sure some people made some money, but personally I was glad the Salvation Army took most of our unsold items.

Check back here every few days after July 10 and we'll try to keep you updated with the trip as it happens.
